Saturday 16th – Hunters Moon Wassail in association with Middle Farm, Firle 6.00pm -11.00pm Free Entry

The famous Hunters Moon wassail is back! Morris dancing, Torch-lit procession & bonfire, Mummers Play, Barn Dance with Sussex folk band ‘Rattlebone’ Cider and real ale bar & hot food, Traditional Wassailing of the apple trees

Sunday 7th March - Dark Monarch Exhibition, Towner, Eastbourne

Enter a dark fairytale of shadowy landscapes, mysterious figures, the secret and the supernatural. This exhibition, which takes its title from the infamous 1962 book by Sven Berlin, explores how folklore, mysticism, mythology and the occult have influenced British art over the past 100 years

Hunters Moon will be dancing at 4pm and 5pm

Launch of Cole Moreten's new book 'Is God Still An Englishman?' Hunters Moon will be dancing at 8pm

MAY

Saturday 1st - Sun Up for May Day (Beltane), Holywell, Eastbourne. Dawn (5.33am).

Dancing the sun up on the 1st of May is a traditional Morris event that goes back centuries. In 2010, Hunters Moon Morris will again be blacking up and donning tatters, top hats and sticks to dance the sun up over the sea. For all those who wish to join us in starting the May Day celebrations you will find us at the furthest west point of Eastbourne's seafront promenade, close to the café. Sunrise is at 5.33am.

 

Saturday 1st - Rochester Sweeps Festival - mid morning onwards

Invigorated by the sun up dancing and a hearty breakfast we will cross the border into Kent for the Rochester Sweeps festival

Monday 3rd - Jack-in-the-Green Festival, Hastings.

Fishing Huts, Hastings Old Town. Fantastic all day event, with visiting dancers and giants. The whole town celebrates.

An event incorporating the Eastbourne Lions Classic Motorcycle Run and the Rotary Club of Eastbourne Fun Walk and Fun Day.

Hunters Moon will be dancing at 11.45am & 1.15pm

Sat 12th - Sun 13th - Wimborne Folk Festival, Dorset .

The event is based on the town centre streets and has its own very unique atmosphere. It regularly attracts many thousands of visitors from all over the UK and of course from the rest of the world, proving that even in this day and age an event of this kind based on tradition can attract crowds of over 30.000 people and has stood the test of time.

Saturday 26th - Crawley Folk Festival All Day

The sprawling wooded grounds of The Hawth with five music stages, a dance stage and oodles of outside space is the perfect backdrop for the annual Crawley Folk Festival – a three day, family friendly live music celebration featuring the best Folk, Acoustic, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Bluegrass, Roots and Country music, together in one convenient fun-filled festival!
